Micro-Text
Micro-text is an anti-counterfeiting technology that incorporates small, human-readable characters on holographic labels in tiny fonts, usually viewed with the aid of a magnifying glass.
Many hologram stickers incorporate micro-text, which can consist of logos, texts, signatures, and other forms, adding an additional layer of security.
Micro-text, with a size as small as 0.2mm, offers an extra layer of security compared to 0.02mm nano-text. Although it may not be too challenging to replicate in the holographic industry, when combined with special fonts or character designs of varying sizes, it can still meet the ideal anti-counterfeiting requirements.
Identifying the special design within the seemingly normal series of characters in micro-text can be challenging without access to the original vector file.
The use of outdated embossing machines may lead to blurred and incomplete micro-text embedded on holographic labels, compromising the quality and effectiveness of the security feature.
Micro-text is a cost-effective security measure as it is easy to implement and does not demand expensive equipment or specialized training for its incorporation.
As per a study by the European Commission, incorporating micro-text or micro-printing can lead to a reduction of counterfeiting costs for a given product by more than ten percent.
