Scratch-off Coating
Scratch-off coating labels are commonly employed to safeguard unique information on a label. This coating, when scratched off, reveals concealed details, enhancing security and preventing unauthorized access to sensitive information.
The technology involves applying a protective coating over printed labels. This coating can be scratched off, unveiling the printed information beneath.
Verification is typically carried out manually by entering hidden numbers or alphanumeric codes into designated web links, or by scanning a randomly generated QR code on the label.
When random QR codes linked to websites are printed on the label, the scratch-off coating should extend over at least half of the QR code to inhibit a second verification attempt.
Under the scratch-off coating, you can find concealed elements such as text, numbers, alphanumeric characters, or QR codes.
This coating has the drawback of containing toxic heavy metals like Pb, Ba, Hg, Se, As, Cd, Cr, and Sb. Additionally, it is prone to damage during transportation due to products rubbing against each other or potential vandalism.
The scratch-off coating technology has found applications in various areas, including verifying the authenticity of lottery tickets and product packaging, among other uses.
