Demetallized Numbering
Serial numbers are imprinted using demetallization technology.
Unlike printed serial numbers commonly found on stickers, those generated through demetallization technology resist removal by special chemicals and reprinting. The transparent nature of demetallization prevents counterfeiters from altering the numbers effectively.
The conventional black-colored serial number has been deemed incongruent with the holographic sticker's image. On the other hand, a transparent serial number reflects the color printed beneath, contributing to a harmonious packaging layout.
The demetallization technology commonly employed on labels often features a fixed image. With its growing maturity in the market, the security threshold decreases. The implementation of variable demetallized numbering, unique on each label, serves as an effective measure to overcome this drawback.
The numbering or alphanumeric characters can be sequential, random, or a combination of both.
A drawback of demetallized numbers is their transparency, which can make the numbers less immediately recognizable, especially if the label is of a similar color to the surface of the product it is affixed to.
